Given a list of Account records, update all accounts where the Type field is null to Type = 'Prospect'. Perform a bulk DML update and return the count of accounts that were updated. Do not modify accounts that already have a Type value. Return 0 for null or empty input.
Examples:
Input: accounts = [Account(Id=001..., Type=null), Account(Id=001..., Type=null)]
Output: 2
Explanation: Both accounts had null Type, both were updated to Prospect
Input: accounts = [Account(Id=001..., Type='Customer'), Account(Id=001..., Type=null)]
Output: 1
Explanation: Only the account with null Type was updated
Input: accounts = [Account(Id=001..., Type='Customer')]
Output: 0
Explanation: Account already has a Type, no updates performed
Input: accounts = null
Output: 0
Explanation: Null input returns 0
